This is my entry for
This is (obviously) inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas! I know there are a couple entries for The Nightmare Before Christmas, but it has always been one of my favorite movies and I just HAD to use it! The stacked pumpkins are carved with Jack's face! There are 7 cupcakes; one to represent Lock, Stock, Barrel, Sally, and Zero. There are also two cupcakes that represent Oogie Boogie! Jack's hands are bent so that he can hold two cupcakes! I am sure if he could hold more... he would! Haha!
Everything is made from polymer clay. Jack's arms are made from painted wire, his hat from paper, and his bow-tie from thread. The cupcakes are 100 percent polymer clay, with some acrylic paint to make it look grungy and Burton-esque.
As for the cupcake decorations, each one is based on a character like I mentioned above! A piece of sally's dress... Lock, Stock, and Barrel's masks... Zero's nose and ghostly tail... and Oogie Boogie's dice, bugs, and piece of green fabric skin!
I am so SO happy with how this project turned out that I am thinking about adding stacked pumpkin Jack o'lanterns to my Etsy! Which, if you are interested, can be found here- [link]
If you would like to know how to make the tree decorations in the back or the stand the penny is on, here are my tutorials for those projects:
